Main Hall & Functions

The village hall main hall is a great venue for weddings, and other functions such as an anniversary, christening, birthday party or funeral wake plus plays, shows and fundraising events. It is also available for regular hire for meetings and sports activities such as circuit training, yoga, Zumba and table tennis.

The main hall is approximately 15.5 x10 metres with a stage area of 50m2 . It can seat up to 200 people theatre-style and 100 people for functions.

There is a generous sized stage for entertainment. A kitchen is available for private use or for professional caterers and has a small oven and fridge. A private bar is available (in the adjoining meeting room 2) and will be staffed by our own employees.

Function & Party Hire Prices

The charges for Main Hall and Main Hall+MR2 include set-up, clear-down and cleaning costs. Meeting Room 2 can also be hired on its own for smaller functions for 20 – 30 people.

Useful Information

Conditions Of Use

No alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks are allowed to be brought onto the premises. Anyone seen to be contravening this rule will be required to leave the premises immediately. If they are attending a function the hirer will automatically lose their deposit in full.

Spot checks may be carried out during teenage parties to ensure that all terms and conditions are being met at all times.

If you have food, you or your caterer will be expected to clear all crockery and cutlery hired from us and leave in the kitchen for us to wash. Any crockery or cutlery provided by yourselves or your caterers must be cleared and taken away on the day.

You are welcome to decorate the room but nothing must be attached to the fabric of the building e.g. walls and woodwork. Lighted candles or any other naked flames are not permitted. Inflated balloons cannot be left in the hall or other function rooms overnight.

Infants under the age of 2 who will not occupy a seat do not need to be included in these numbers. 2 High chairs can be provided by the hall.

We would very much appreciate if guests could pre-book taxi’s so as to minimise the disturbance to our neighbours whilst waiting outside for its arrival.

Payment Terms

The booking is only confirmed with the payment of a refundable security deposit of £100 and completion of the Function booking form. The deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after the event provided there has been no unacceptable behaviour, damage, missing items or excessive noise, spillages or mess. The full payment and cost of any extras (in addition to the deposit) is required 28 days in advance of the hire date. An e-mail will be issued to confirm receipt of both deposit and full payment within 5 working days of receipt.

– On-line BACs payment to Cookley Playing Fields and Village Hall at Lloyds Bank, Sort Code: 30-92-93, Account: 69186360 – stating your surname and event date in the reference field.

– Cheques payable to “Cookley Village Hall” and sent to Cookley Village Hall Bookings, Lea Lane, Cookley, DY10 3RH

 

We do not offer credit facilities.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations of bookings must be given in writing (letter or e-mail)

 

– post to Cookley Village Hall Bookings, Lea Lane, Cookley, DY10 3RH, or

– email to cookleyvillagehall@gmail.com

 

…and will only be effective once confirmed. The Cancellation will be effective from the day of receipt of such notice. If the Hirer needs to cancel a booking, for whatever reason, he/she will then become liable to pay the COMMITTEE a cancellation fee as follows:-

 

– If cancelled more than 3 months from date of event : 50% of the refundable deposit

– If cancelled less than 3 months to date of event : Loss of 100% of deposit

Use Of Entertainment Providers

We are delighted that you nave chosen our venue as the setting for your function & we will do our utmost to ensure that your event is memorable.

 

In order for us to satisfy our neignbours & Worcester regulatory, we are obliged to follow recommendations regarding noise pollution and health & safety issues. Entertainment must not exceed Environmental Health decibel levels due to proximity of houses. DJs must connect to the sound system and 4 speakers in the hall for this reason.

DJ’s & Bands must contact Daryl Preece prior to an event to discuss public liability. All equipment used on premises must be PAT tested. Email Daryl at info@upfrontentertainments.com.

 

An additional deposit is also required for noise monitoring.
