Cookley Bowling Club started life between 1951 – 1953 thanks to numerous people of the village who designed and laid the grass to what became known as Cookley Bowling Club.
These people became the first Committee. The first club building was a Nissen Hut purchased with a donation by Cookley Steel Wheels in which bowling equipment was kept. A few years later thanks to another donation this time from Cookley Cricket Club, the club were given their old changing rooms, which became the score / bowls hut.
During that time a new building was erected and Cookley Bowling Club obtained a licence to sell alcohol in it. This little club slowly enlarged in the late 70’s and was renamed the Cookley Sports & Social Club.
Cookley Bowling club supports 6 teams in the Kidderminster & District Mid-Week Bowling League, and 2 teams in the Kidderminster Weekend League which means that matches are played all through the week and weekend.
